No sooner had entered my hotel room in Vina del Mar, Chile, in late June that I had discovered much to my horror that I had
left my gifts to my sponsored children sitting in my apartment thousands of miles away. I managed to salvage things by
rushing out to the local flea market and purchasing costume jewelry for my kids, Milena and Araceli, before I met them for
the first time. Whew!
Upon my return, I wrote them letters thanking them for inviting me into their lives, then packaged them up with the gifts I'd
forgotten along with photo albums of my visit. Below are the photos and letters I received from Milena.
