THE BROOD
September 11, 2011

Blanca, from Antigua, Guatemala, is one of my older sponsored girls.  Maybe I should write "woman" instead,
because she just turned 15-years-old and had her coming out ceremony, called a quinceanera.  It's a very big day
in the life of a young lady.  As her letter claims, it was the happiest day of her life.  Since I was able to fund the
outfits and food, it is gratifying to know that I had a hand in making this a memorable occasion for her and her
family.

And since I am now sponsoring her younger sister, Ruth, I believe I have set a precedent.  Better start saving up
now.  These things aren't cheap!
